A selection of the best Vegan face masks to help you achieve healthy and glowing skin

Vegan Face Masks

I love a good pamper session and it is needed more then ever during this lockdown for a bit of self-care and to zone out from all the chaos. I take time out once a week in the evening with a face mask and under eye mask, to help me to relax and wind down just before bed. I’ve noticed it helps to add a few drops of essential oils to an oil burner which enhances my mood and wellbeing.

Since we launched the Green collection it has made me more aware of sustainability and the environment, trying my best to change my habits for the better and to remember that every little helps. I love good skincare and face masks but I rarely check to see what is in the ingredients and what effect it could be having on my skin.

My skin is not the best during the cold winter months especially when I’m indoors with the heating on full blast. It has made my skin look dull, dry and to top it off I’ve been breaking out like crazy! So I’ve been looking into face masks that are vegan with natural ingredients and are kinder to the skin to help me achieve healthier skin for the better.

Read on to see the type of vegan face masks that are out there to help you achieve glowing skin and that include some of my favourite superfoods….

Each of the ingredients are checked to make sure they have been ethically and sustainably sourced. There mission is to be the greenest beauty brand and are the UK’s first Plastic Negative Beauty Brand which means they are taking out twice as much plastic from the environment as they introduce to it.

Radiant Glow Face Mask

The Key Ingredients of this face mask are Raw cacao powder, sweet almond oil and coconut particles. This face mask helps to improve the hydration and complexion of the skin with the oil nourishing the skin leaving it super soft. It also consists of upcycled coconut shell particles which act as an exfoliant. I’m a big fan of organic cacao powder and use it regularly to make hot chocolate or sprinkle onto porridge. Cacao is rich in minerals and antioxidants; it has many nutritional benefits and is known to be feel good energy for the body and mind. Its great to know there is a chocolate face mask out there made out of cacao which has many benefits plus I’m a big fan of anything related to chocolate!

Facetheory

Facetheory are another British brand which are based in Sheffield where all the products are made. They produce clean skincare using sustainable packaging and the products are vegan and cruelty free, at an affordable price point. They are certified and approved by the global programme Leaping Bunny which is internationally recognisable for cruelty free products.

Green Tea Face Mask MK2

This face mask consists of French clay, face oils, chamomile and green tea. The clay is used to draw out the impurities and the oils such as argan and jojoba hydrate, soothe and nourish the skin. Green tea is full of antioxidants and protects the skin whilst the vitamin C brightens the skin. It is great to know this face mask is suitable for sensitive and combination skin types. I love the health benefits of green tea and incorporate this daily by drinking a cup as it has high levels of antioxidants. It’s exciting to have found a mask that has this superfood as one of the ingredients.

This face mask is suitable for all skin types and is made with the powder of discarded olive stones along with white clay, coconut powder and baobab oil. It helps to target blackheads, prevent breakouts and minimise pores. It is great at detoxifying the skin and making it look refreshed and clean. The mask comes in a glass jar with an aluminium lid that is fully recyclable. I love how Upcircle use plant base ingredients that would usually be thrown away, taking in to account how much food goes to waste. I love the idea of how these food ingredients are turned into beauty products and can have so many benefits for our skin.
