BAFTAS 2016 inspiration for bridal: get the looks!

The BAFTAS red carpet this year showed a mixture of understated and overstated styles plus some fabulous dresses to inspire you for your wedding.  We picked some favourites to inspire you how Sabina Motasem can help you get the look.

Lace is always popular in bridal wear, but this year you will find some fresh and modern patterns that will give your bridal style a more contemporary look. Along with a new twist on patterns, you can find new ways to wear your lace.  In the image below, Tanya Burr (right) has a very pretty but edgy lace look, wearing it as an overlay to a short dress underneath.

Looking at overlays, on the left, Olga Kurylenko wears a stunning embellished, tulle sheath dress by Ralph and Russo, a little risque to wear down the aisle, but again, it would make a beautiful overlay. Both of these outfits remind me of our Mistinguett and Lily Raindrop overlays and Evelyn bodice.  These can be worn as the focus of your bridal outfit, or you can wear them over a dress (Elsa or Colette, for example) during the day and remove for the evening reception.  Watch this space for some fresh, modern laces coming in my new collection!

We saw more elegant white on the red carpet from two gorgeous redheads, Julianne Moore and Isla Fisher.  You can see how a white column dress can have very different looks depending on the neckline, the skirt, the fabric and cut; so many choices!  Our Anna dress (which has a sexy keyhole back) and Colette dress are just two examples of how you can wear this look.

And finally, a popular style for this year is the simple but sexy slip dress style.  We love the Dior take on this worn by Dakota Johnson. They keep the simplicity of a slip dress, but the extra detail in the skirt makes it more girly and the vibrant red gives it more impact. Our Elsa slip style dress is one of our most popular as it is so beautifully simple and versatile. Each bride really makes it her own.
