"Finding Motasem was a genuine godsend - a designer with a deeply-felt passion for quality and style is a rare thing and Sabina Ali belongs to this small club. Like all prospective brides, I had dreamt the 'right' dress in my mind and couldn't believe my profound good luck when I happened across it on Motasem's website. The Lotus dress is an exquisitely cut, ivory silk, knee length dress with cap sleeves and the most fantastic asymmetrical pleating on the hem. Artistic, sleek and unique. And oh so wonderful to wear! That dress made me stand tall and proud, made me happy to be seen and excited to be stepping out in it. Fashion really can't do more than this and you couldn't wish for more from a wedding dress. I'm happy too that I got the chance to try on so many of the dresses in the Motasem bridal range - Sabina has such a strong sense of what makes each dress distinctive and encouraged me to explore each style that grabbed my eye and imagination. The whole experience was utterly lovely - it was wonderful to talk to a designer face-to-face and to have them take the time to explore what look worked best for me. The collection is put together so thoughtfully - every line, every detail is there through design not accident. And the price tag? It was a steal - especially given the quick turnaround on the dress, the personal service I received, the quality of the silk and the uniqueness of the design. I still can't quite believe my luck

"I loved wearing my Motasem dress, and everyone else loved it too. After a rather half-hearted and unfocused search for “the perfect dress”, I found my way to Motasem quite by accident, following through an internet search for “ethical weddings” via a tip off from Lucy Siegle in The Observer. I was immediately attracted to Sabina Ali's beautiful dress designs and made an appointment to view them in person. I hadn't even planned to wear a long white dress and seem to recall that I only tried some on at Motasem as a joke with my friend. But although the shorter cocktail style dresses that I had set out to try on were all beautiful, the one I chose was the beautiful long white Alaya dress, in silk crepe, cut on the bias, with a cowl draped neckline front and back. My husband commented last month that Pippa Middleton's dress reminded him of mine, though he of course preferred mine! Motasem was clearly ahead of the game! She seemed to sense what would work for me as an individual and was able to use her great flair and style to help me not only choose the perfect dress from her range but also find the other bits of my outfit that would all combine to make me look my very best on my wedding day."

"I found Motasem by chance, it was listed in TIME magazine as eco-dresses. Immediately I knew it was perfect for me. I had looked in Bridal shops and in the high street without much luck. I contactes Sabina immediately, she was friendly, approachable and very professional. She had at least three dresses that were close to perfection. I couldn't believe my luck, my search ended there. I tried them on and knew this was it straight away. On my wedding day I was very comfortable and elegant. I highly recommend Motasem."

"I wanted a "grown-up" and sophisticated dress to wear for my wedding day, and had been mightily put off by typical (and I felt, intimidating,) wedding dress shops, and scary looking traditional wedding dresses. Sabina is relaxed and cool, and clearly has a passion for all of her dresses; she wants to understand exactly what you are after without applying any pressure. Her dresses are simply beautiful and classically elegant. I wanted a dress which felt special, but which felt special without being solely defined as a "wedding dress". I chose Alaya, but would have happily chosen a couple of other of her designs (and my bridesmaid chose a lovely red cocktail dress which she will easily wear on other occasions). I felt like a film star, simply dressed and not trussed up in flounces and frills. She was also a real help in choosing accessories. She is a great person, really friendly and approachable. I can't recommend Motasem enough. I loved (and love!) my wedding dress!"

"I highly recommend Mostasem to any bride! I found shopping for wedding dresses intimidating and frustrating. Although I did not have a perfect dress in mind, I knew I did not want a strapless puffy dress and that I wanted possibly something short; this took about 98% of the dresses out of the equation. I also found that most wedding dress companies ask you to order your dress at least six months in advance and I had some raised eyebrows when I told shop assistants that I would require my dress in four months. Fortunately a friend suggested that I look at Motasem. From my initial contact with Sabina I was impressed. Initially I was drawn to the Lotus which was beautifully designed and felt great on, but Sabina also suggested that I try on the Alya dress which was really flattering. What really helped was that Sabina took pictures of the dresses and suggested that I take some time to think it over. I appreciated that she did not put pressure on me and encouraged me to think it over. In the end I chose the Alya dress, with ... I found shopping for wedding dresses intimidating and frustrating. Sabina was fantastic about the changes and I felt confident in her design skills. In the end the result was beautiful. The dress felt and looked fantastic and Sabina was brilliant about making last minute changes and alterations. I felt really good about the overall service I received; Sabina was friendly, helpful and offered suggestion without being pushy. I also felt good about the fact that she is a London designer and the dress is made in London, which is rare for most wedding dress companies. Taking these things into consideration made me feel that I was getting excellent value for money. I highly recommend that every bride take a look at her selection of wedding dresses and cocktail/bridesmaid dresses"

"When I started looking for a wedding dress, I had it in my mind that I wouldn't buy a wedding dress from a boutique. I'd buy a classic number that was a dress in its own right and I could wear it again. Hitting the shops I started to realise that this wasn't as simple as I thought and non-bridal wear was all in drab colours and not what I was looking for. So then I went back to look at bridal wear. I thought what I wanted was so classic that surely it'd be easy to find - how hard can it be to find a simple, elegant dress - very! I had nearly settled on a dress that was by another designer, but it felt a bit like I was settling. So on one last trawl of the internet I found Motasem and saw a dress that looked just right - I called Sabina straight away and she was really friendly and I had an appointment before I knew it and immediately a good feel about it all. I think from the moment I saw Sabina's range on the rail I could see she was making the sort of dresses I wanted and I would find what I was looking for and I did. From ... From first appointment to the delivery of my dress, it's been a great experience and I've felt every confidence in Sabina that she'd get it right. And the dress feels great on! Plus, I really do like the idea that the dress was designed and made locally, not just because it meant turn around time was so quick. I'd really recommend Motasem to anyone, Sabina will put no pressure on you and you can tell she really gets satisfaction from getting it right and making a top quality product - she has a real pride in producing beautiful dresses."
