Ethical Policy

As a company we have strong ethical core values: all our dresses are made in the uk; available with options to select peace silks (we are currently sourcing other fabric options to select eco silk-like fabrics like bamboo, soya and seaweed), please enquire for further details if you are interested in any of these fabrics; dresses are ethically priced and not over inflated and produced in factories which have been vetted by Motasem and have high quality standards; all fabric offcuts produced when dresses are made are given to the bride to reduce wastage (offcut fabrics can be used to decorate tables, flowers, invitations and bouquets); most of our dresses are made in natural silks which have not been bleached or dyed and all materials, paper and card are always recycled.

Appointments

Try on a sample dress in your size, choose from colour swatches, 50% non refundable deposit taken, delivery date confirmed within 2 months, shorter timescales are possible at am additional cost of 30% extra fee of the cost of the dress. Appointments scheduled every Saturday or weekdays Wednesday to Friday.

Alterations

All dresses are in set sizes to fit the size chart below. Some alterations can be made whilst dress your dress is being madeat an additional cost of £60 per alteration (i.e. hem length, taking in at side seams and shoulder straps). Any further alterations after the dress is made will be carried out with a partnering alterations company. Whilst some selected designs are available with optional design features, designs cannot be changed, we do not offer a bespoke design service, all dresses are ready to wear and have been designed to be easily altered.

Ordering online

If you cannot visit our London showroom and would like to order your dress online, we accept paypal and can deliver throughout the UK. Before ordering your dress please double check the correct size against our size chart.

Order Collection

Place your order during a booked appointment and save the delivery charge by collecting your order from our London showroom. If you are unable to visit our studio, we can send your dress to you by Royal Mail Special Delivery and accept paypal payments through sales@motasem.co.uk. An additional postage and packing, and delivery charge is applicable if ordering a dress online and through paypal.

Delivery Times

All dresses are made-to-order and delivered within 2 months from date of placing order. If shorter timescales are required, we can guarrantee a delivery date less than the standard two month delivery at a surchage of 30% of the cost of the dress. Delivery to remote or outlying areas may be longer.

Delivery of Order

We deliver throughout the UK and Ireland. All UK parcels are sent by Royal Mail Special Delivery. If you are not in when Royal Mail arrive, they will leave a card and you can call to arrange redelivery or pick up from your sorting office. Goods not collected after 7 days will return to Motasem Ltd and postage will be charged if we have to re-send.

Returns Policy

We trust you will be happy with your purchase, however if for any reason you are not, follow the instructions to return your purchase found below under ‘unwanted goods ‘. Please remember that we have most of the dresses on display in our showroom – so if you are unsure about suitability / sizing / colour / fabric, feel free to call and arrange to visit us before purchasing, alternatively – call us for further information.

Please ensure you check all garment dimensions carefully before ordering, and once you are in receipt of your fabulous purchase, be sure to open and check it within 3 days of receiving it, informing us of any transit damage problems immediately.

Unwanted Goods

If you change your mind for any reason and you wish to return your purchase you must notify us within 7 days in writing by letter, fax or email.

Unwanted items must be returned in a fully resaleable condition, which includes being in the original, unmarked and undamaged packaging within 7 days of receipt. Returns outside these timeframes may be accepted at the discretion of Motasem and may only be refunded as a store credit. Items must not have been used in any way. Items can be returned to the London showroom in person by appointment and in most cases will be refunded immediately. Motasem retains the right to refuse a refund on any item not deemed to be resaleable.

Please note that we do not offer a free returns service. We do not refund the return postage cost or the original delivery charge. We do not accept responsibility for items lost or damaged in transit back to us. If returning your purchase by mail we recommend that you get proof of postage.

You must include your customer order details with the package, as we cannot process a refund without these. Once received the items will be checked and a refund issued within four weeks. Items returned must arrive in perfect condition, including the packaging, so please ensure that they are packed well.

We reserve the right to refuse a refund on any item if the above conditions have not been met.

Damaged, Defective or Incorrect Goods

If your purchase is not fit for purpose, is misdescribed, faulty, damaged, or incorrectly supplied, please contact us as soon as possible to arrange a refund or replacement. We will require you to return the item, as it may be necessary to return it to our factory. You must check all items and parts of items for damage prior to assembly.

Include your customer order details with the package, as we cannot process the returned goods without these. Once received the items will be checked and a replacement or refund issued within four weeks.
